My favorites include:

Amores Perros - Santaolalla
Amélie - Yann Tiersen
The Red Violin - Corigliano
Hable Con Ella - Iglesias
City of God - Pinto & Cortês
Battle of Algiers - Morricone (I cannot BELIEVE that this is not anywhere in that 200-item list.)

There must be more favorites, but my memory is weak. In general, I really admire the work of Gustavo Santaolalla, Bernard Herrmann, Morricone, Toru Takemitsu.

I'd agree with Chinatown, Vertigo and The Day The Earth stood still. Those are all amazing scores.
Planet Of The Apes (Goldsmith's naturally) should also be on there...that's beautiful!
Solaris- Cliff Martinez, A Short Film About Killing - Zbigniew Preisner, Songs From The Second Floor - Benny Andersson, The Thin Blue Line - Phillip Glass...hits a soft spot for me too...

There are a fair few gems in that top 100. It just seems to me it's padded with too much commercial dross, but this sort of thing is so subjective.

My picks from that list are; Chinatown by Jerry Goldsmith (which was the temp score for LA Confidential and it shows), Streetcar Named Desire by Alex North, Robin Hood by Korngold (the film's complete pants without it) and Once Upon a Time in America by Morricone.

My faves that were cruelly neglected are; The Taking of Pelham 123 (the original one) by David Shire (one of the great jazz scores), Cape Fear by Hermann (using a small ensemble it's his best score by miles), Ran by Toru Takemitzu and to round things off 'cause stopping's the hard part Sans Soleil (the Chris Marker doc) by Michel Krasna.
