This isn’t a review, its way too soon for that, but so far I am thoroughly enjoying shooting photos & video with my new little Canon s95. Funnily enough its not for reasons that I initially thought I would. My primary motive for getting it was that my trusty old point & shoot Sony camera suddenly died and I need a little camera for those times when I simply cannot carry my Canon 40D DSLR and lenses, and the 40D doesn’t shoot video and there are many times when I need to hold a mic with one hand and the vid camera with another (or have it on a small tripod) so the fact the s95 can shoot quite beautiful 720p video was definitely a factor, but the aspect I have really been enjoying is that the s95 is so physically small – I can get it in to places that my 40D with a macro lens just wouldn’t fit! Here’s a few examples from my first experiments with it…..
