We’re at the end of second week of mixing a film called Home By Christmas, with one more week to go next week. Its tiring work, even though I’m not really doing much – just making sure all my material is working & making changes/providing any new requests etc as we hear everything properly in context. But one essential for me when we mix is a slightly non-obvious sanity preserver: a webcam! As we are working in a large dark room, from 9am until 7pm I have no real idea what the time is, what kind of day it is outside etc (other than lunchtime of course) so I tend to always have a local webcam open. My favourite is this one of Wellington harbour, but it was a little disconcerting when I opened it this morning to see what looks like some kind nuclear explosion has occurred & almost melted the LCD screen on my laptop!

Is the harbour still there or is it now just nuclear ash?
I used to do the same thing when I was an office drone, this was my fav camera

This is a great idea! One that I am immediately stealing!
