Ok I know this isn’t next in the top 5 films but I decided I’m going to intersperse the top 5 with films that I personally am interested in…. So if you feel like it, go watch Punch Drunk Love – I’ll post the trailer below, and will kick off a discussion on it in a few days…

This is a very good idea. I would like to understand why they mix the music so loud sometimes and why this music. I’ve got already a part of answers, but I’m gonna wait your post Tim.
Sat through my first screening of “Punch Drunk Love”.
Going into this movie, I had no knowledge of it what so ever. I knew of the film by its name, but that was it. I had no idea what the story was, how successful/unsuccessful it was, etc… Most of the films, if not all that I watch these days I know something about from trailers, media, interviews, etc. Which in a way sort of spoils the escapism that movies are suppose to provide. So it is rare that I watch a film that I know absolutely nothing about. Watching this movie ‘blind’ reminded me of the power of movies. I wish I could have this same experience with more films these days…..
Just went and bought the film! Watching it tonight
I love when I sit down to a movie with no preconceived ideas about it. 13 tzameti was like this for me I was almost in shock in the theater lol.
I actually try to force myself to watch movies without reading about them. I watched deathproof without reading a thing about it. All I knew is that car from the poster, the director and that somebody was gonna die
After the first act I was like omgwtfpwned!
I also watched oldboy without reading a thing about it and again omgwtfpwn!
I will put punch drunk love at the top of my netflix cue
Found great site about the film and influences:
