Finished temp mix #3 for 30 Days of Night, layed back & checked the HD master, then raced in & Gilbert Lake & Mike Hedges mixed my NZ Film Festival logo theme!

15 seconds, 21 tracks & my virtual orchestra performed happily…
Lead with the double bass (of course!) & some percussion (including a couple of arizona rattlers) with no complaining from the string section thank you!

It plays before EVERY film so I had to pre-age it to make sure it doesn’t annoy anyone…. but was also sorely tempted to record myself going ‘Shhhhh’ & put it in the surrounds…. & maybe some threatening mumbling about turning off your cell phone during movies!

Truly beautiful!
Very nice indeed. That nice elegance/moodiness/hint of darkness/lack of hype which says NZ film to me. And that nice lo freq thing near the timp roll – must be the product of not just a music kind of musician, but a music/sound kind of musician!
