Today is Korean movie day for me! First up is Treeless Mountain

Then this evening is Thirst by Chan-Wook Park – I really enjoyed his trilogy of Old Boy, Lady Venegance & Sympathy for Mr Venegance, so I am keen as hell to see his take on the vampire movie:

I saw Treeless Mountain. The kids’ acting is very realistic. The cinematography (the long shots of the sky in particular) were breathtaking. Curious to know how you like it.

  • Don’t forget “I’m a cyborg but that’s OK” from Park Chan-Wook… vey nice film too.

    Curious about Thirst now !

OMG! Just got back from seeing Thirst – what a fantastically twisted film! I highly reccomend it, it definitely has all of Park Chan-wooks genius touches but it was also surprisingly funny in places; not via dialogue but through circumstances…
I enjoyed Treeless Mountain, you are very right Matt – the two girls performances are very good. A few times I got a little frustrated with the relentless closeups, but it was very much told from their point of view…

Two very good films in very different ways!
