Had a very sucessful record mission to Samoa! I got pretty much everything I needed including some of the elusive flying foxes – will post some sounds of them when I get time, they are very strange sounding; a little like p+ssed off flying cats who fight a lot! But for now heres some photos from my travels….
Swimming every day = bliss!
Stayed a night here at Virgin Cove – so great sleeping in a beach fale as sonically you are effectively sleeping outside, so you hear the day turn to night, dawn etc…. Below is the view from the fale – the mailbox was actually for holding a candle at night… Definitely coming back here for a holiday!
I couldn’t help but think of laying a music stave across the buoys and the resulting melody….
Revisited the ruined church on Falaulopo Peninsula, Savaii and shot a timelapse of the sunset…
The sun had just set when out of nowhere some of the local kids suddenly appeared.
As soon as they saw cameras the beautiful quiet church transformed into a pint sized hiphop vid!
And home again…. passing clouds, passing….
