Upload your music/sound to my ftp server & then add a comment below so that I know its up… I’ll then embed it in an MP3 player in this post… If you could start the filename with SY003 & your name that would make life easier too… Heres the upload details (you will need to use an ftp program like Cyberduck OSX or Filezilla PC)
Server: http://ftp.musicofsound.co.nz
Login: anonymous@musicofsound.co.nz
No password (just hit enter when it asks for one)
Upload to the ‘incoming’ folder
Tried uploading via Cyberduck. Says ‘anonymous users may not overwrite existing files’.
Will try again in the morning
weird – did you upload to the incoming folder?
Couldn’t actually find the Incoming folder, only a ‘Pub’ folder.
I posted my audio interpretation on my bands blog (as well as your image, hope that’s ok?)

Right gotta go to bed. cheers

I have uploaded my track, but not sure if everything is ok – I can’t see it (Cyberduck says 0 files in ‘incoming’ folder).
yes its there, I’ll embed it now
Maybe I’m just really tired but it seems that if you stare at that long enough it changes quite a bit. Is it a optical illusion? Or something you made?
its a photo of a rose bush that i shot de-focused
File uploaded.
I first signed in as just anonymous which worked but I could only see the pub folder just like Martin mentioned above. Then I logged out and logged back in as anonymous@musicofsound.co.nz and everything worked fine. I think that answers Martin’s question.
Thanks again for the fun project.
A detailed description of this piece will be up on my blog soon.
Ah, a rosebush. Nice idea. Also looked like there were organic elements in the photo.
[...] is my musical interpretation of Tim’s photograph. You can check out the other contributions here. As usual, this song was made with all original instruments which I have included for free on the [...]
I have to say, my interpretation (which I do not have the time to create) is actually not too dissimilar from Tim Prebble’s. I would have cello rather prominently in the background and a bit more “airy” sound for the atmosphere.
I hope the upload of my musik for syn003 has worked. I found the image quite calm and full of static(the look of the blurred reds/greens) and attempted to put this into sound. A little long perhaps?
i’ve embedded it now!
When I look at this photo I envision bright sounding bells. Followed by dark melodic brass.
as the saying goes: “post them or it didnt happen”
