The Best TED Talk yet!

Herbie Hancock, Marcus Willer & Harvey Mason have one of the best conversations I’ve heard yet in a TED talk… hang out for a version of Watermelon Man@14.10

    Marcus Miller is wicked!

Wow! What melodies and rhythms! These guys have got some funky grooving going on! That video led me to watching some more TED videos and one of them was Steve Jobs’ talk at a graduation ceremony in the US.

I was surprised to hear some of the stuff he talked about such as him never graduating and how he got fired from Apple some years after creating it only to go and create NEXT and PIXAR (never knew he had created Pixar)! Then some years later Apple bought NEXT to use their technology in all the new Apple range of computers. So he got back into Apple that way. Anyways, nice story.

    Thanks again!

  • Yeah, that was pretty fantastic. Thanks for pointing that out.

That Oasys was cool, but every time he switched to the piano, it was just… “aah. That’s really nice.”

I’d love to go to TED as a “once in a lifetime” thing. So expensive… Thomas Dolby is the musical director of the one they have in Oxford (TED Global?), and he gets some good musicians in also. Not sure who’d be the equivalent of Herbie & Marcus, though.

    Cheers,

    John :^P
