West Head, Tory Channel

When I did my road trip down South a month or so ago, I caught the Bluebridge ferry and have discovered the joys of renting a cabin for the crossing… The trip takes about 3.5 hours and usually it is a bit of a scramble to find a good seat… But the issue is also that a public seat is not secure i.e. you cant leave your laptop etc and go up top to shoot some photos… And there may not be any power to charge devices etc…
So when booking a ticket a few trips ago I noticed the additional cost of a cabin was very little (eg travelling one way with my 4WD and me the cheapest fare is $170, and to add a single cabin costs $30) The cabin has a bed, shower and toilet, a desk and chair and power outlets, so for me it is a no-brainer. I can have a snooze, use my laptop etc… And keep an eye on google maps to see when it is worthwhile going to the upper deck to shoot some film… And thats exactly what I did: snooze for an hour & then me & my XPAN went up top just as we approached the South Island….
