This isn’t my DIY exterior bath, but it is the inspiration for my next DIY project.

Back in Feb 2018 after a road trip up North on the way home I stopped for a few nights at a great old bach in Mahia. Around the back of the house was a nice deck, on which the owners had installed a bath, with a shower. After a day out shooting and field recording it was so great to make a nice dinner, have a few drinks etc and then relax by having a bath under the stars…. So it has always been on my mind to create something similar, especially as my laundry backs on to the rear garden so plumbing would be very easy for hot and cold water…

So DIY with no cost will be first via a hose out the window, and will see how well it works out & either then get it plumbed permanently, or change plan and move it elsewhere and convert it into a worm farm, which is something else I very much want to do.

Routing drainage is the next challenge, more so to make use of water in a part of the garden rather than just wasting it down a storm water drain. Total cost of project so far? $10.50 for a good condition bath ex a renovation. Low cost DIY FTW!
