I quite enjoy going to charity book fairs – there are a couple of groups in the region who coordinate them as fund raising for charities. People donate books & once a year they sell them all… This morning I went to the Lions Book Fair at Waikanae, a half hour drive from my house…

Apart from scoring all these great books (best was a book called FILM AS FILM – Experimental Film 1910-1975, as well as some fascinating NZ history photo books)

Of course the Kong Production Diaries are all available online, and while its funny to skip through the production documentation to see Peter Jackson go from being full of energy on day 1 of the shoot, to the utter exhaustion at the end, its also so good to see the documentation of the sound team, especially dear old Hoppy – Mike Hopkins RIP
