Mostly I’d aim to do 2+ full 360 revolutions so I got consistent light trails and shooting I experimented lots just to see the range of possibilities, shooting bulbs exposure minimum would be 5 seconds & longest was maybe 30+ seconds.
One aspect I need to find a good solution for (other than gaffer tape) is the camera is very secure but it has a cable release attached to it & the Canon one is the size of a TV remote… So if not secured it will come loose & get tangled etc… But need to be able to grab it without bumping camera to end the bulb exposure…
I did also shoot some timelapse versions, where I shot in manual mode with a fixed 2 second exposure being fired every 5 seconds.. So I’d just keep spinning the camera for ten minutes while it captures dozens of images of same exposure time but different rotation variations, and thats a direction I will explore more as apart from eventually shooting xpan and medium format film, my aim is also to capture moving images so I can put sound & music to them… Such fun!
