Between Pukerua Bay & Paekakariki
Imagine how much that tree weighs! Then think about the size of waves that would carry it & deposit it there…

New mallets

The big brush is Samoan, used to sweep away dust etc… and to play BIG percussion!
I got the other pair while I was at the RockShop yesterday getting my Keystep replaced.
They are Vic Firth BROOMCORN and are beautifully quiet… and quite different tonality to wire brushes… I love playing my drumkit, but its a threat to my hearing so these brushes are a nice antidote. Sound gorgeous on ride cymbal, and hi-hat is whisper quiet

▶ My Arturia Keystep 37 died yesterday… Thankfully bought it local, so I checked the purchase date and it was almost exactly 1 year ago I bought it… I thought, surely the fckng warranty did not run out a few days ago but Arturia has 2 year warranty…. As I bought it locally (via the Rock Shop) I got a warranty replacement today. No two week wait, cos I tried to save a few $$ via Amazon… Cheaper is definitely not always better!

▶ Spotify was ‘down’ aka offline for 4 hours.
Me: Oh dear. How sad. Nevermind. Tra la la la la…

I really do have to wonder about people who choose to access their music via wifi AND that sketchy platform.
How sketchy is it? Well, it seems there is an endless supply of new forms of sketchy behaviour
But it is good to see they have their own Twitter hashtag now: #SpotifyCorrupt

▶ I have a weird bot issue on Twitter. Some UK company is stalking me!?! Like they followed me, and before I follow anyone back I always check their timeline, incase they are spammers, nazis or musicians with no other personality than ‘marketing my music’. If they don’t post I check their likes & replies. But this one company just seemed to be a marketing exercise for an audio service I have no interest in, so I blocked them. Next day, another follow from a generic audio name, with the same pinned tweet advertising that same bizo. Blocked. Every day for about two weeks now they follow me again, with a different account name. And every day I block them. It must be some kind of bot farm, because if there was a human behind the account who actually wanted to connect with me, they could use a personal twitter account. But they don’t, they continue using new variations of their bot. And I shall continue to block them. What a dumb waste of time…

I took a few photos from this position & then walked out that narrow S path… I took a few photos standing right out at the end of it.. & when I turned around that S-shaped path was completely gone & underwater!! Tide was coming in & I’ve read about how the last surge in fills a lot of area fast. It was still so shallow I barely got my shoes wet, but for a second I went OMG!!
