I seem to have developed a pattern of blog posts with incremental numbers, but why?
Maybe predictably the posts with the longest cycle have the most resonance, and so its 2012 and it was record store day a week or three ago….. as if I need any encouragement to go buy vinyl!
But it is a very accurate reflection on my current workload that weeks after the date I actually have a few hours off one evening to have a listen to this years vinyl gems.. So here they are…

Sound System Scratch – Lee Perrys Dub Plate Mixes 1973 to 1979 – Pressure Sounds 68 – bought new at Rough Peel Music $40

why? for this track (MJ – Billy Jeans precursor?)
The New Music – Stockhausen, Penderecki, Brown, Pousseur – bought secondhand at Low Cost Records in Petone for $40
