My heart skipped a beat when I saw mention of a celeste on a local auction site… Alas it wasn’t actually a celeste per se, but my newest percussion family member is a Deagen Song Bells model 101 which were made in Chicago between 1925-1930, using aluminium bars spanning 2.5 octaves from F to C… Funny to think it will soon be in my room with Deagen marimba of similar age… But one day I will find a Celeste!!
