Someone on local FB group offered this today for free, so I went & got it, with a vague plan in mind. At the same time as I was rummaging around in the basement & found that Chain Reaction CD, I also found a box with the bars from the first vibraphone I ever bought…

To hang the bars, I quickly just used string but a far more elegant & useful way would be some kind of hook, so the selection and order of notes can be easily changed… It needs some lubrication and maybe an actual bearing for silent rotation, but the idea of a varispeed motor could be interesting too…. with CV? It’s interesting to play – melodies and rhythms form that are slightly imprecise but they tend towards primarily physical patterns (rather than a necessarily musical ‘thing’ or idea)

“ok rotovibra speed ramp/accelerando zero to 1,000rpm in 60 seconds, take one”
