▶ DinSync are showing their new NC-V8 Acoustic Lathe at SuperBooth ’25 – it uses a “gantry” design that sits across an existing high torque turntable, apparently “many so-called “superOEM” turntables with high torque Hanpin designed motors already exist in the market today.”
▶ This AudioX: Diffusion Transformer for Anything-to-Audio Generation is interesting only because the examples & demoes are so bad. One – genmerating music for a video, is kind of hilarious. Its pounding generic happy techno, as the onscreen text describes the protagonist witnessing his father “getting butchered… by the mob” lol. And the examples on audio in=painting with the start & end of a retro sounding siren slowly rising & then falling being infill painted with 2 or 3 completely different era tonally random sirens… One last bogus example – one of the nature videos with generated soundtrack had wind-on-mic noise! I had to stop there. Interest terminated.
