my iTunes workflow: avoid it
for music bandcamp/boomkat/bleep/etc are far more functionable and equitable (unlike spotify)
and for OSX I much prefer the free lightweight player app VOX
(which also has a Premium option with cloud storage, but can ignore such SaaS aspects)

funnily enough, the only time I use iTunes is the night before a road trip:
grab my iPod from the car, plug it into my mac… try to update with new tunes and….
slowly hate the entire experience

so ah congrats to apple then…
