▶ managed to score an Analogue Systems FB3 Filterbank rack unit for very little, and found this Sound-on-Sound article about how Analogue Systems was started – I have a few of their modules in my modular synth too, including two of their RS-500E Synthi Filter clones, an RS-310 (nice ringy Reverb/Chorus) and an RS35 External Processor… But their actual providence was a mystery until that article, and this is fascinating – parallel histories: “Unbeknown to Bob Williams and Steve Gay (Analogue Systems) Dieter Döpfer had been thinking along the same lines as them in the early ’90s and, shortly before the AS Integrator, the Doepfer A100 appeared. Williams has been asked on numerous occasions whether a collaboration would have been sensible but, since neither party knew what the other was doing, the question didn’t arise” – hence the different psu and hole spacing….
