Last week I stayed a night in Mokau, which is up the West Coast from New Plymouth…
It was a great reminder what a beautiful experience it is, to walk barefoot on a wide open sandy beach as dusk falls… But as I walked along the beach I suddenly noticed I could see the outline of Mt Taranaki!

So I had to do a reality check in google maps:

Annoyingly, I only had my Zeiss 21mm lens on my 5D, so the horizon shot is a zoomed in iPhone photo… Next time I’ll take my 400mm lens!
