Winter Solstice in New Zealand was early this morning: Saturday, June 22, 2019 at 3:54 am apparently.
I slept through it but was surprised by what a difference between the two solstices: in terms of daylight, today is 5 hours, 4 minutes shorter than the Summer Solstice!
Five hours!! WTF????
I did plant some garlic though, and lots of it!
