Funny too – while I was waiting I had a chat with a woman who had brought her little boy with her to see the train pass…. Her son would only be 5 or 6 years old & she said that he plays rugby but when they play at Mana sports fields, the kids all stop the game to watch any trains that passby.. then carry on lol… They had also never heard of Spark & Thee Talking Train kids story, and while Iw as telling them about it I also realised that it would have been my first experience hearing sound design! In NZ since forever they play kids stories on RNZ on a Saturday morning and I listened to Sparky many times. Until now I had thought watching Dr Who ona black & white TV was my first experience, but that would have been a few years later…
