I’ve always thought Farewell Spit in Takaka looks like a bird beak, but not just any bird…. Its a long spit, so that would mean a long beak but all the photos and drawings of kiwi beaks show them as fairly straight…

This is an extinct bird of Aotearoa, the Huia.

Tomorrow I’ll go explore Whanganui Inlet, try & refind Echo Point & capture an IR… and maybe explore Farewell Spit…

Today I went for a drive round Pohara:

There used to be some giant silos up on top of the cliffs near here, as part of Golden bay Cement Works. The silos were dismantled but I always wondered what the area was used for, as its all locked down with security gates etc… but they can’t hide from my drone!

Perfect location for some super villains lair!
